ERIC JONES (Playwright, “TRIBES”), a pharmacy graduate of TSU, has been involved with Christian theater since 1995 as writer, actor, director and composer. Writing credits include “Children of the Passage,” “Three Crosses” and “Postcard Journeys through Christmas.”
He has also acted in some of these plays.
Film credits: “Mortal Love” (screenwriter, actor) and “Curveball” (story writer, actor, producer) for the 48-Hour Film Project Houston; winner of 11 awards for Best of Film, “Dreamland Murders.” The film also won the 2015 Silver REMI Award at the 2015 WorldFest Houston Film Festival.
He won the 2017 World Fest Platinum Remi for Best Sci-Fi Short for producing and writing THE RING. He won Best Screenplay Short at 2020 National Black Film Festival for “The Knowledge Men.” Jones is enrolled in the MFA Screenwriting Program at Houston Baptist University.
He completed his professional certification of Film Producing at UCLA School of Film and Theatre in summer of 2020. He also won the NAMT’s 15 Minute Musical Challenge for a short musical he wrote with Joshua Davis called White Man’s Burden..
He won the 2020 Oasis Award for Best Script Manuscript for TRIBES which was a huge honor. He is thankful to God and his family for being his biggest supporters.
